Eight COMMANDER sprayers in Russia

In the Region Krasnodar in Russia the agro association “Kuban” sprays with eight COMMANDER Plus with TWIN air assisted booms. Using TWIN makes it possible to increase driving speed, save time and gives a better productivity.

“The sown area of our Agro alliance constitutes 53,000 ha, on which we cultivate such crops as winter wheat & barley, maize, sunflower, soybean and sugar beet. We have used the HARDI COMMANDER Plus 4200 with a 30 meters TWIN air assisted boom for three years. Our company operates eight such machines.

The average load for each sprayer in the season ranged from 4,000 to 5,000 hectares depends on the crop and the prevailing conditions. TWIN booms allow us to spray at speeds of 15 to 20 km/h. This significantly increases the productivity of our sprayers and saves us time.

In comparison to conventional sprayers with a traditional boom, TWIN system exceeded all expectations, particularly in regards to spray coverage and penetration. For example, some weeds (e.g. Abutilon) have hairy surfaces and this prevents leaf surface contact of the herbicides when sprayed with a conventional sprayer.
The TWIN reaches both sides of the leaves, thereby significantly improving the effect of pesticides on the plant. Even with you bare eyes, you can see the effectiveness of the TWIN when compared to a conventional sprayer.

When spraying sugar beets after the rows closing phase, the TWIN system penetrates well through leaf mass, providing better penetration of chemicals on weeds, which are under the leaves of sugar beet.

On of the most important factors of TWIN sprayers is that they prevent drift in windy conditions. We have sprayer effectively with the TWIN system even with wind speeds exceeding 10 m/sec.”(36 km/h)says chief agronomist Panchihin Sergey Viktorovich.
