SIMA 2011 News: TERRA FORCE boom with DynamicCentre

TERRA FORCE boom -provides robustness and performance - up to 42 m

TERRA FORCE is a new designed boom concept from HARDI being developed and tested during the last 3 years. Keywords as performance, capacity, serviceability and reliability have been in scope and the top priorities for engineers and test farmers.

The boom is offered on COMMANDER 6600 l and on the new SARITOR self-propelled sprayer and has been tested in Australia for more than 35,000 ha.

Capacity 
With boom width from 36 to 42 m, the TERRA FORCE is intended for large sized farms and contractors. The heavy duty construction and the high performance support  the boom position as top of the line.

Performance on both flat and hilly terrain
The boom centre is the one single element with biggest impact on boom performance. TERRA FORCE is offered with two different set-ups for the boom centre – DynamicCentre and AutoTerrain.

The DynamicCentre makes it possible to change the characteristics at the centre part, so the performance is optimal regardless of terrain and driving speed. The setting is easily changed on the go from the cabin. The Dynamic Centre tilt-suspension can be chosen as an option.

AutoTerrain helps the sprayer pilot
The AutoTerrain is a fully automatic boom control. Based on ultrasonic sensors, the system is constantly monitoring the boom position and makes the needed correction. AutoTerrain distinguishes from others by measuring on forces added to the boom and making a pro-active correction before the boom is affected by the force in practice, meaning that the system prevents unintended movements instead of correcting them. 

AutoTerrain is equipped with negative tilt as standard. Both versions of the centre part are as standard equipped with hydro- pneumatic anti-yaw and hydro-pneumatic ParaLift suspension.

Flexibility
TERRA FORCE 3-folded design allows the angling of the folding hinges to make the boom more compact in transport. Partial fold gives bigger flexibility for the use of the boom and is available as option. 

Fluid system with higher flow rates
Together with the boom, a new developed boom fluid system is introduced. The new system is named T25 referring to the diameter of the boom tube. The new system supports high capacity, serviceability and reliability.
