AutoTerrain reduces spray drift

For best spraying performance 110° nozzles should be operated between 35 and 50cm above the spray target. The text book optimum is 50cm which allows for some boom movement.

In reality most wide booms are being run much higher naturally to keep them out of harm’s way. However, when this is done spray drift is the unfortunate consequence.

AutoTerrain is an optional HARDI drift reducing technology integrated in the TERAFORCE boom available on COMMANDER and SARITOR sprayers. AutoTerrain sets new standards in wide boom performance by maintaining a lower boom height and providing better spray drift control.

The pre-emptive benefit of AutoTerrain is due to the ‘computer stability control systems’ monitoring the relationship of the boom to chassis through roll sensors. It corrects the booms position relative to the ground contour by rotating it the through the centre pendulum. AutoTerrain works in the background keeping the boom where it needs to be.

AutoTerrain maintains the set boom height following the ground like a magnet regardless of the terrain it travels across. This solution is gaining a lot of acceptance in broad-acre circles.

Stability is the essence of a good boom and the single most important criteria for a good spray job. Keeping the nozzle at a constant, uniform height above the target is what spraying is all about. Unfortunately, as booms get wider they get heavier, more reactive and harder to control.

AutoTerrain is a proactive stability & auto height control system that deals with the cause of boom movement. It arrests the tendency for the boom to follow the sprayer through undulations, corners and headlands by providing independent correction.

AutoTerrain maintains the correct boom height independently of the sprayer chassis movement, and enhances the operator control over the accuracy of the spray job. Staying on line in variable conditions, negotiation obstacles and headlands as well as managing the correct boom height tests the best operators.

The system uses highly tuned and calibrated proportional hydraulics to control the main lift, wing tilt and centre roll functions. The computer seamlessly monitors roll and height sensors 10 times every second detecting change and invoking simultaneous correction.

AutoTerrain reduces spray drift by maintaining a constant spray height, increasing wide boom performance and prevents boom ground strikes.

HARDI introduces two new self-propelled sprayers

HARDI Australia launched the SARITOR & PRESIDIO during fall 2012.
Now, NARDI North America these days day are launching SARITOR & PRESIDIO at the new AG CONNECT Exhibition in Kansas City, Missouri.

This is an important milestone for our company. As the industry leader in trailer sprayers, the successful launch of these two new products will further strengthen our position as The Sprayer in North America. Both products will offer advanced spraying features and the performance that growers have come to expect from all HARDI products.

SARITOR 4000 and 5000 will offer tank capacities of 4000 l/1100 g and 5000 l/ 1300 g respectfully and will be powered by a Cummins QSB 6.7L 275HP engine capable of reaching road speeds of 55 km/h /33 mph. The 4WD Hydrostatic, Sauer-Danfoss H1, technology optimizes performance providing speed, torque, traction control and progressive acceleration. When cruise control is selected, power and bias to maintain the operating speed is automatically managed. Combined, these features deliver maximum fuel efficiency.

The cab is large and spacious with unmatched comfort for long spraying days and nights. It is extremely quiet with excellent operating visibility. A fully adjustable air-ride operating seat provides exceptional comfort for any field conditions. The SprayCenter armrest has joystick hydrostatic control, sprayer operations and spray controls attached that move in unison with the driver’s seat. The HARDI HC 9500 controller delivers the highest level of performance and application precision. This industry leading controller is a full feature farming tool providing growers with guidance, data logging, application report generation, automatic steering, HARDI AutoTerrain boom management system and many more features. SARITOR is ISO 11783 (ISOBUS) compliant offering compatibility with other ISO compliant virtual terminals.

SARITOR’s DynamicFluid4 fluid system accurately delivers the target rate without delay regardless if sections are switched on/off, changing speeds or turning in or out of headlands. The DynamicFluid4 processor analyzes the spraying data 20 times a second and provides preemptive rate control capability, altering the pump speed with pinpoint precision. The fluid system is driven by the high performance HARDI 650 wet seal run dry centrifugal pump.

The TERRA FORCE boom is built strong utilizing heavy duty three dimensional truss construction and is supported by an extra wide ParaLift which further enhances stability for smooth ride and performance. With on-the-go stability control the AutoTerrain boom management system can be set from the cab. The TERRA FORCE boom is available in sizes of 28 to 42 meters / 90 to 132 feet.

PRESIDIO 2700 offers comfort and design with the spraying capacity of a 2700 liter / 700 gallon main tank. It is powered by a 173hp 6 cylinder Deutz TCD2012 engine which delivers excellent power to weight ratio. PRESIDIO comes with a 4WD 3 speed hydrostatic transmission standard. This combination of engine, transmission and cruise control provide power, efficiency, and smooth control of forward speed.

The PRESIDIO cab is operator friendly, comfortable and quiet. The work platform provides easy entry to the cab and offers excellent access to the tank. The panoramic view to the boom and front wheels is outstanding. PRESIDIO ground clearance is 135 cm/ 53 in. with standard tires and class leading 147 cm / 58 in. with optional 380/90R 46” tires.

The PRESIDIO offers the HARDI SmartValve fluid system and is powered by a HARDI 650 wet seal run dry centrifugal pump. The EAGLE boom is renowned for its performance and durability in broad acre and row crop applications offering unmatched performance in extreme conditions. The EAGLE boom offers strong two dimension truss construction supported by fast acting ParaLift boom height control. The HARDI EAGLE boom will be offered in sizes from 24 to 30m/ 80 to 100 ft.

The new completed COMMANDER line receives a SIMA 2013 innovation award for the DynamicFluid4 liquid system
"Increase the capacity" has been the aim for the new updated COMMANDER line. Tank capacities from 3300 to 7000 litres, faster filling of chemicals, integrated electronics, easier service, boom alternatives from 18 to 42 m and the SIMA awarded DynamicFluid4 identifies some of the 37 updates of the COMMANDER. At SIMA, HARDI group will exhibit the COMMANDER 7000 with 42 TERRA FORCE boom and AutoTerrain boom management system.

MASTER plus with a wide range of intelligent features
HARDI introduces a range of new features on the MASTER plus - an updated tractor mounted sprayer which is a "top of the range" machine and is for the farmer who does not want to compromise when high capacity and safe operation are highly demanded.

Vertical folded PRO booms from 20 to 28 m now with AutoSlant option
The optional AutoSlant system will automatically control the height and slant functions of the boom. This gives the driver much better control of the boom, and the result will be a better spray application. AutoSlant works with 2 robust and precise ultrasonic sensors, the operator can choose between soil or crop mode. A HeadlandAssist automatically lifts the boom when turning on headlands.

BoomPrime low pressure circulation
The optional BoomPrime is a low pressure circulation system. The spray liquid can circulate to the nozzles before the actual spraying starts. It prevents sedimentation and permits flushing of the boom lines without spraying onto the ground. There will be still liquid running through the boom tubes when the distribution valves are closed.

More electronic options
The MASTER plus can be delivered with 3 different terminals and can also be used as an ISOBUS ready sprayer. To make the spraying operation easier, the HC 6500 & HC 9500 have the proven HARDI GRIP joystick. All primary spray functions, such as on/off and section switches as well as the hydraulic operation can easily and safely take place by means of a joystick.

Different AutoSectionControl solutions
If the existing Virtual terminal has an automatic section control which is following the defined task controller function of the ISOBUS standard, for example the John Deere Sprayer Pro, than the ISOBUS terminal can operate the distribution valves of the MASTER plus, so the customer doesn’t need a separate HARDI AutoSectionControl.
